Sunbury Blue Light Disco

The Sunbury Blue Light Disco is back!  This event is interactive with prizes and everyone is encouraged to actively participate, especially after 2 years of lockdowns.

Sunbury Blue Light Disco is not-for-profit, run by volunteers and align within Blue Light Victoria’s overall mission to: Enable youth engagement through the provision of Blue Light initiatives, between Victoria Police and the community.

The disco allows young people of primary school age, to socialize with their peers in an affordable, safe and supervised environment, as well as interact with emergency personnel. We endeavor to develop positive self-esteem, confidence, social skills, respect and youth empowerment. It is a healthy, physical activity which contributes to the social and emotional development of young people. It is through proactive inclusive recreational programs such as Sunbury Blue Light Discos where young people in the community, are given the opportunity to see police in a completely different light. Numerous studies advocate that early intervention and engagement programs to counter youth offending are undoubtedly a priority for the police and community.
