Principal's Report

Dear Parents,

What a fantastic time we all had on Thursday night and Friday morning last week. To finally host a whole school event and showcase some wonderful talent was an absolute thrill for all involved. Congratulations to all of our student STOMP performers and to to the many parents and families who braved some coolish weather to enjoy the experience.

Some brave staff members also showcased some talent, which was well received and a great deal of fun. It is these occassions of celebration and inclusive community togetherness that makes our school community so special.

It has been wonderful to gradually welcome back parents onsite, in mornings and during assemblies. A number of exciting social gatherings have occured and more have been planned by the St. Cecilia's Parent Association. This mornings Mother's Day Breakfast is another example of such a wonderful annual occassion that we celebrate. It is so important that schools continue to find ways of partnering with parents as the experience of belonging and connectedness is essential for wellbeing to thrive. "At the end of the day, the most overwhelming key to a child's success is the positive involvement of parents."

Partnership
Partnership

When your child moved beyond the earliest years, your family was joined by the school on your child’s learning journey. This is when the long-term partnership between home and school began. In choosing a Catholic school, parents enter a partnership with the school in which there is shared privilege and responsibility for the child’s faith formation, learning and wellbeing. Our families have chosen St. Cecilia's; a school community where learning is steeped in the teachings of Jesus, where the quality of the education matches their aspirations for their child, and one where their child is enabled to be a ‘beacon of goodness, integrity and justice’ in the world (Pope Francis 2014).
