The Arts

This semester in Visual Art we are making fantasy dreamscapes.  Prep, Lower Primary and Upper Primary are exploring materials to make mixed media artworks that develops an understanding of colour line and texture.  Prep and Lower Primary are making some extremely curious weather patterns inside The Art Shack through their artwork.  Upper Primary are finding out about some very fascinating artists from the past who have used fantasy dreamscapes as their focus.  They are recreating their own version of these famous artworks including Salvador Dali’s “The Elephants” and Vincent Van Gogh’s “Starry Starry Night”.

Students in Secondary classes are also exploring materials but have certainly stepped up to the creative task of using ideas and observations to make their own fantasy dreamscapes.  There is a good variety of artist books, artist boxes and other 2D artworks that explore the techniques of watercolour, acrylic paint and collage.

The Art Shack is always open to the curious of the Fantasy Dreamscapes world or those who would just like to visit. Looking forward to catching up with you at Parent Engagement Evening if not before.
