Bubble Recount Writing

In Prep A we have been combining oral language experiences within writing in the genre of recount. Prep A learners engaged in a bubble blowing experience outdoors, which allowed them to learn and apply vocabulary, along with sequencing the bubble blowing event into their writing. As beginning writers, it is important to build confidence and skills with all efforts in writing to communicate ideas. This includes drawing and making attempts to spell words using learner’s building knowledge of alphabet sounds. Learners then independently uploaded their learning onto Seesaw, reading their writing and reflecting on their use of conventions such as capital letters, full stops, and spaces between words.

A list of class generated vocabulary from the experience included words: rainbow, pop, Hinaya, blow, float, sit on steps, sat, First, Then, Next, fast, chase, outside.
