Kids Corner

The “Kids’ Corner” section of our school newsletter provides the opportunity for the children to showcase their talents or communicate something special.

This fortnight Amaya and Saheli (both in Year 2) would like to share their narratives:

Going to the Moon – by Amaya

Charlie was 18 years old, his job was to be an astronaut. Space was Charles’ favourite place to be.

One gloomy day Charlie goes to space in his bright rocket. Splutter, splutter the engine went and then CRASH! The rocket had landed on the moon!

“Oh no!” said Charlie. He got out of his rocket and aliens were there.

Charlie ran and then sprinted here and there .......... finally he gave up and gave the aliens his food, then they became friends.

Finally the rocket charged, Charlie said goodbye to his new friends and went back to earth.

The Very, Very Big Party Problem – by Saheli

One sunny morning a girl called Mia went to the shop. It was going to be her baby nephew’s birthday.

“Um, excuse me, are there any toys especially baby ones?”

“Oh yes,” said the shopkeeper.

Mia was well known for being shy, even when talking to her parents. As she walked through the really huge and tall baby section she didn’t realise she had been there for hours. Suddenly there was an announcement saying, “Hello everyone the shop will be closing”

Mia thought it was a fake speech and stayed in the shop. Soon she realised it was not a fake speech!

“Oh no!” she thought. “The party!”

Early in the morning, when the shop opened again, she went home. Then got changed and went to the party. However she learnt a lesson to always listen – at least she was in time for the party!
