Faith Matters

at St Francis Xavier School

Dear St Francis Xavier Families,

SOMETHING SPECIAL

My attention is often drawn to the wonderful things our children do and say and every now and again, when the opportunity presents itself, I enjoy sharing it with others. Last week Miss Kim showed me a letter that Dusty in Year 1 had written during the Easter break.

It humbled me to think that during her holiday, a young child would take the time, to thank Jesus for his great sacrifice. I have been using Dusty's letter as a morning prayer when working with classes over the last couple of weeks and it has provided an opportunity to further reflect, with the children, about the true meaning of the Easter season. It has also generated some lovely discussions about how we move forward in 2022 knowing that Jesus is alive in our hearts and through our actions and behaviour towards others. One of Dusty's peers commented. "That was a beautiful letter, I'm really proud of Dusty."

SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION

I would like to acknowledge the Year 4 students who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation last term and are now getting ready for First Communion which will be in the first week of June. My sincere thanks to the Year 3/4 teachers for preparing the children and Fr Chinua who always ensures our sacraments are celebrated in a spirit of joyful enthusiasm.

MOTHERS' DAY

To all our wonderful mothers, grandmothers, sisters, aunties, friends and anyone else who is like a mother to our children. We truly value and appreciate you and the love and guidance you provide. We send you thanks and good wishes for 'Mothers' Day and always.

Warmest wishes,
