Year 9 Creative Writing

The Year 9's latest CAT was a creative writing piece using an image as a prompt. Some great writing was shown by students.

“She crawled toward the opposite side as her tears stained the seat. His eyes had power but it was the sunlight that caught her eye, on the sharp end of a knife peering form his pocket.” (Alyssa)

“Thomas Beck had been missing for a week. And there was no sign of his vanishing. All that was left was the little board game figure he always used, in a pile of leaves in the woods. The police had taken no notice of it.” (Tayla)

“As the glistening sun poked its head over the horizon, the deafening gun fire continued.” (Riley)

“Each thrash of the shark rips deeper into my thigh, ripping and shredding with ease.” (Seb)

“The atmosphere was unsettling. The wind speeding up and slowing down unexpectedly. A sense of regret was building.” (Jade)

Cobram Youth Forum

On Wednesday 18th April, our Year 8 and Year 9 students participated in a youth forum to investigate how to bring about positive change within the community. They were inspired to hear from the Zaidee Foundation's Allan Turner, to learn how to bring adversity into a positive.

We would like to thank Cobram Youth Group, the Greater Shepparton Lighthouse Project and Zaidee's Rainbow Foundation for their support of this event.

“Very good to save lives.”

– Kobey Yr 9

“I found it inspiring how Allan came up with some "silly ways" to get his daughter's story told"

- Charlotte Yr 9

“The presentation was clear on a harsh topic. You could hear the emotion in Zaidee’s dad’s voice.”

– Tayla Yr 9

"Straight to the point"

- Bailey Yr 9

“Inspiring”

– Billie Yr 9

“I think people should donate their organs because it could save someone’s life. Not just one person but five or six.”

– Georgia Yr 9

Because as he said ‘‘when you die you are dead. Instead save lives.”

– Olivia Yr 9
