Vikings Exhibition

On Monday April 30th 41 Year 8 students attended the Vikings Exhibition at the Melbourne Museum. We had a wonderful day. All students arrived on time at Merinda Park Station where we caught the train to Parliament Station, then a short walk through the gardens, stopping to take pictures, saw us arrive at the Museum. We spent an hour viewing the exhibition before having an hour of free time exploring the rest of the Museum. Then we had lunch, I did warn them buying lunch in the Museum would be expensive! What did they learn? There is a lot of reading when you go to an exhibition, the Museum is big and spread out, stuffed animals can be weird, food is costly, students from other schools can be interesting to talk to, and it is not hard to travel into town, (also it is funny how Ms FitzGerald calls Melbourne ‘town’). What did I learn? It is OK to take a group of pleasant, well behaved and interested Year 8 students into town. Ms FitzGerald, Ms Weissenfeld, Ms Duffy and Mr Najibi thank you all for a grand day out.

Dolphin spotting

Last week 4 Year 10 students went to Schnapper Point in Mornington to spot dolphins as part of the ‘I sea, I care’ Marine Ambassadors Programme. The students have been learning techniques on how dolphins are sampled in Port Phillip Bay as well as how the disposal of plastics negatively impacts the marine ecosystem.
