MCK PRIDE CLUB MIDSUMMA PRIDE MARCH

On Sunday 5 February, the McKinnon Pride Club participated in the Midsumma Pride March in St Kilda.

The event began with all the students, teachers and participants meeting up at the Ian Johnstone Oval. We got to meet a whole bunch of other schools, social groups and youth groups before the march. It wasn’t too hot compared to last year and the weather wasn’t rainy either.

After the first wave, we walked down Fitzroy Street for the march, where we ended up in Catani Gardens. There was music, food trucks and other fun things. We sat under an umbrella and listened to music for a while. There were many people with many awesome costumes.

We got frozen drinks and walked to the Victorian Pride Centre. It has very cool architecture and also an awesome bookshop where my friends and I purchased some stickers.
