BOOK OF THE WEEK

We are excited to share the latest books recently featured in our "Book of the Week" series. A new book is featured each week on the library catalogue.

"Grace Notes" by Karen Comer is a debut young adult verse novel about two 15-year-olds and their unique experience during Melbourne’s Covid lock-downs. It’s the uplifting story of what happens when the paths of a talented violinist and an aspiring street artist cross during the pandemic.

"Sheets" by Brenna Thummler is a heartwarming graphic novel that explores themes of grief, friendship, and the supernatural. The story follows a young girl named Marjorie who runs her family's laundry business after the death of her mother. 

Meanwhile, a ghost named Wendell haunts the building, causing trouble for Marjorie's business. As they get to know each other, Marjorie and Wendell form an unlikely friendship and learn to confront their respective challenges. "Sheets" is a beautifully illustrated and emotionally resonant tale that will captivate readers of all ages.

EAST CAMPUS

I would like to thank everyone for the recent donation of books for our East Campus collection. 

Library staff will continue to process them and make them available to our Years 8 & 9 students. 

The books at Main Campus Library are also available to students based at East Campus. Students may place reservations via the library catalogue.

If students are unsure of how to place a reservation, please contact the Library:

library@mckinnonsc.vic.edu.au. Library staff will organise the reservation for you.

Reservations are generally available for collection at East Campus each week. Books borrowed from the Main Campus Library must be returned to the returns box on level 2 near the Student Managers' Office.
