PERFORMING ARTS

WORLD DAY OF PRAYER

Congratulations to the Senior Singers who brilliantly represented the school on Friday 3 March. This year the event was held at St David’s Anglican Church in Moorabbin. The feedback about the performance of the Senior Singers was outstanding, with many expressing their gratitude for the beautiful sounds that the singers created.  Thanks to Ms Blanka West for organising the event and preparing the students, and to Mr Dmitry Serebrianik for accompanying the students.

HOUSE MUSIC

With just over two weeks to go, we are so pleased with the amazing sounds we are hearing from the rehearsals - before school, afterschool and lunchtimes - in preparation for the festival on Wednesday 22 March.

Just a reminder that after three years:

House Music will be held live to parents!!!

7pm, Wednesday 22 March in the School Hall

All are welcome!

We are looking forward to seeing and hearing the amazing work that all the students are completing under the direction of their House Captains.

All information for rehearsals will be on the daily newsfeed, but captains are also communicating via classroom.

YEAR 12 THEATRE STUDIES

The Year 12 Theatre Studies students are now well into rehearsals for the student directed play “The Secret in the Wings” by Mary Zimmerman. This will be performed in early May as part of their studies for Unit 3. Tickets will be available soon and we are looking forward to seeing the work they are developing. Students take on all production roles including set, costume and lighting design.

LESSONS AND ENSEMBLES

Instrumental music lessons have now started so please ensure that you watch the Compass schedules and emails for confirmation.

A reminder that all payments for instrument hire and lessons should be made through the bursar or on Compass.

Students who are learning an instrument at the school are required to be part of the core ensemble program, and again being part of the instrumental program is dependent on commitment and attendance at ensembles.

These ensembles are an integral part of the music program, where students can apply the musical skills that they have covered in their individual or small group lessons. All ensembles have now started rehearsing.
