Victorian Schools Garden Award

On Thursday 24th November a group of Year 6 students represented St Louis de Montfort’s at the Victorian Schools’ Garden Awards.

Xen, Gab, Tom, Harvey, Henry, Annalisa, Lucy, Abbey, Ruby and Leila accepted the Regional, State Award and the Kevin Heinze Perpetual Awards from Paul Crowe OAM and co-founder of the program.

St Louis de Montfort’s was recognised for the inclusiveness and wellbeing that is part of every day throughout our garden space. The VSGA program encourages schools to consider their outdoor spaces as an important facet for learning, acting as classrooms for hands-on education while improving student health and well-being. It also acts as a vehicle for getting children involved in gardening and creates awareness of future employment opportunities in horticulture and environmental industries.

Well done to all the students who are involved in our garden space.
