Diocesan Cross Country

Congratulations to our Cross Country team that travelled to Barraba to compete. A big thank you to parents for your support in transporting students and helping on the day. Six students were successful in being selected to go and compete at the Polding Cross Country in Sydney at Eastern Creek – Darcy Oakes 1st, Ruby Selig 3rd, Olivia Selig 3rd, Flynn Ellis-Brien 4th, Will Browett 6th and Kane Cameron 2nd.

Kindergarten King Fit Kindergarten students finished King Fit sessions last week. If your child has any outstanding IOU’s please send them to your classroom teachers ASAP.

Primary Sport

The primary will continue Athletics rotations this week. The Athletics Carnival and Field Event finals will be held later in the term.

 

Infant’s Cross Country

The annual Infants Cross Country will be held on Friday, 21 May, on the back oval starting at 12:20pm. Parents, Grandparents, Caregivers and friends are more than welcome to come and watch, but will need to sign in using the schools QR Code. Kindergarten will run one lap of the back oval while Year 1 will complete 2 laps and Year 2 will run 3 laps. This will be followed by a sausage sizzle on the school’s front lawn. Families may like to bring a chair to sit on while eating your lunch. Order forms must be returned by tomorrow, Wednesday 19 June, if you or your child would like a sausage sizzle.

 

Year 1 King Fit

As part of their sports program in Term 2, children in Year 1 will attend fitness sessions with Nick King starting next Friday 28 May for four weeks. At the centre they will be working on strength, balance and locomotion activities. Cost is $3.00 each week. Please pay your child’s classroom teacher on a weekly basis. Students will be transported by bus to and from the centre.

 

Year 3-6 Gala Day

The annual Diocesan Gala Day is being held in Inverell on Friday 11 June. Teams come from Catholic schools across the Diocesan to participate in a day of sporting competition. Students in Year 3-6 have the chance to be selected into a school team in soccer, netball and league. Trials will be taking place over the next week on the back oval. If your child is selected they will receive a note with further information on it.

Secondary Sport

School Sport

Students will participate in one of the following winter sports this term: rugby league, soccer, netball, league tag, basketball, tennis ($2.00). 

 

Bill Turner Cup

Congratulations to the boys soccer team who defeated Glen Innes High School in Round 2 of the Bill Turner Cup last week. The team will now play Inverell High School in the coming weeks.
