Artes Escénicas

¡QUÉ FIESTA TAN FANTÁSTICA! LOVED SEEING THE SMILEY FACES ALL THROUGHOUT! :)

Spanish Fiesta éxito (success) last Friday!

What an eventful day at Newlands' Spanish Fiesta last Friday! Such an exciting day full of spectacular performances from all of our students and some staff too! Gracias to Bess and the 4/5/6 Art Club for creating wonderful props for the play, Los Tres cerditos, showing that we are truly collaborators and support each other! Gracias to all parents, community and other external companies for coming to support the celebration of our official Spanish Bilingual Accreditation! Las Artes Escénicas (Performing Arts) was clearly shown at the start, with students showcasing some of the plays in Spanish and the salsa, cha cha dances too! I am still in awe and so proud of every one of our students for being part of the performances and doing so enthusiastically and with passion!

F/1

Los tres cerditos y el lobo feroz play was incredible to watch! I loved how all students were supportive to one and onother and how they all used such beautiful Spanish to say their lines. The acting was impressive too with different voices used for some of the characters! Huge shout outs to Asya, Bonnie, Edith, Fox, Nina and Xavier for that! Shouts outs to all F/1s who also performed the cha cha dance on the day! The Cha Cha Salsa dance was such a hit too! I loved seeing their ending poses and their cool cha cha moves! What energy was shown on that dance floor! The F/1s' love for Artes Escénicas (Performing Arts) have really shown through this term and at the fiesta! Keep this up! Excelente y gracias F/1! :)

2/3

The Cha Cha Salsa dance was such a hit at the fiesta last Friday! I loved seeing their ending poses and their wicked cha cha moves! What energy was shown on that dance floor! We have continued with Juan y el frijol mágico. This week, they have been completing these and recording videos onto Seesaw. Stay tuned for that towards the end of this week! Their acting, Spanish speaking and expressions have really improved this term! Muy bien 2/3! :)

4/5/6

What an exciting end of the term. Our 4/5/6 cohort managed to finish their 'Corte' (court) plays. They used Spanish really well and shoed creativity with their own plays. Some casos (cases) were very unique and I enjoyed seeing the humour shine through! The 4/5/6 teachers have also commented and enjoyed seeing these on Seesaw! They are approved now, so enjoy! We may see one of these at assembly this Wednesday! The Salsa dance at the Spanish Fiesta last Friday was amazing! 4/5/6 have really improved in their salsa moves, acting and Spanish dialogue following a corte (court) scripts. I hope to see more of this talent this year! :)
