Ride to School Day was such an exciting way to finish off bike education! Our leaders were put through their paces in running such a large event and they did an amazing job! We had over 300 students arrive on bikes, skateboards and scooters! What an incredible effort some of our students went to in decorating their modes of transport. We had Willy Wonker, Planet Girl, butterflies, fairies, dinosaurs, monsters and streamers galore! We appreciate the feedback in regards to the parade and will certainly use this to make our Ride to School Day even better next year!

During our final PE sessions of the term students will become familiar with our cross country track. Some of our students have been attending 'Run Club' to train for this event! Our Cross Country carnival is quickly approaching and will take place next term on Friday 23rd April! This is the first week back. The circuit is completely within the school grounds and is approximately 650m. Each year level will complete the following laps:

Prep - 1 lap 

Year 1- 1 lap 

Year 2 - 2 laps 

Year 3 - 3 laps 

Year 4 - 3 laps 

Year 5 - 3 laps 

Year 6 - 4 laps 

We would love our parents and carers to come and cheer as loudly as they possibly can! A program will be coming out soon so you can see the approximate time your child’s race will begin. We would also like to put some of you to work as track marshals so if you can spare some time please contact me via Sentral! Must have working with childrens card. We won’t have you working while your child’s race is on!

Interschool Sport will begin in week 3 next term for our year 4/5/6 students. Games will take place on Fridays. We would love parents to come and cheer us on! Please refer to the fixtures schedule as games take place at different fields/courts/times each week. Students have chosen their sports and will participate in soccer, AFL or netball. Please make sure you have completed the permission slip! 

I have absolutely loved getting to know you all over the last year, thank you for making me feel so welcome! It has been an absolute pleasure to teach Phys Ed at Newlands Primary! I feel confident that the PE program at Newlands Primary will continue to go from strength to strength with our wonderful new PE teacher, Lisa Lillico. Lisa and I will work together closely to allow a seamless transition for our students. I can be excited about my new role at Newlands knowing that our students will benefit from Lisa’s expertise and kind nature! Welcome Lisa!

Preps will only join us from 12-2pm
