Year 6 Camp

On Wednesday 10th of March, grade six went to Camp Manyung in Mt Eliza. For the next three days, we completed a range of spectacular, exciting activities. We did eight activities in total; two on the first day, four on the next day and two on the last day. We were split into groups for the activities with about ten people in each group. The activities included an eighteen-metre high giant swing with a phenomenal view of the ocean from the top; pizza making with a wood fire pizza oven; a course of zip lines forming the Treetop Challenge; snorkelling, rock pooling, open water learning and raft building at Sunnyside beach. There was also a set of teamwork activities called ‘Initiatives’. After all of those, we had a fifty question trivia night and a movie night where we watched ‘Up’. The accommodation was cabins which were a completely different experience from living at home. We also had the bonus of staying with our friends.

The food we ate was also quite delicious. For dinner on the first day, we had nachos. For breakfast on the second day, we had scrambled eggs on toast. For lunch on the second day, we had meatball subs and for dinner, we had roast chicken. On the last day, we had English muffins and toast for breakfast and wraps for lunch.

Overall, it was a privilege to go to such a wonderful camp. Thank you to all the teachers for helping us at camp. Thank you to all the parents for allowing us to go to camp. We had a lot of fun!
