OUR AMAZING EASTER RAFFLE

As you know our Easter Raffle is a much loved tradition here at CPS on the last day of term one each year. I do hope you have purchased your tickets via our QKR app over recent weeks so your family have a chance or two to win a prize. This special activity wouldn’t be possible without the support of many.

Thank you to:-

  • Our PFA for organising the event, collecting donations and wrapping the prizes last night.
  • Families for generously donating eggs or Easter treat to ensure there are many prizes to be won
  • Mark Fisher, (Harvey’s dad) for spending many hours creating a computer app to draw our prizes. I look forward to seeing the excitement on Thursday morning with the assistance of our school leaders.
  • Lucy Gow, (Harvey’s mum) for designing the CPS Easter bunny you can see in the attached images and donating some merch for the raffle on Thursday.
  • Lizzy’s Chocolates, a great friend to our community for so generously donating the enormous Lizzy’s Egg as our first prize. We all know how delicious their chocolate is.
  • Josh Acklom for arranging to film the raffle so parents can be part of the draw even from a distance. The link will be shared on Compass so parents can log in.

THANK YOU FOR A GREAT TERM

As we all know this time last year we were all navigating very unsettling times. One year on, I hope this finds you all well and enjoying the new freedoms we have. I also hope you are taking care of yourselves and your families as the previous twelve months have presented challenges for us all. Many of our ‘old’ routines have returned but in saying this, I do feel that time should be given to reflect on how you and your loved ones are, time to rest and recharge your batteries, time to be kind and generous to yourselves and your families, time to re-establish a sense of connection and community spirit by focusing on generosity and togetherness. The upcoming school holidays will hopefully allow you to fill your days with activities that bring you contentment and happiness ☺

Here at school just how quickly the first term has flashed by. We have certainly packed a great deal into ten weeks. It has been delightful to see how beautifully our new preps have arrived, found their feet and developed their confidence and sense of belonging. It is a pleasure to visit the caring and creative environment our staff have engendered in the prep rooms. The children are already working happily and diligently and often quite independently, they should be very proud of their achievements. At the other end of the school, we acknowledge the great start our senior students have made, particularly in their roles of responsibility and leadership.

Congratulations to all of our students on a great term’s work. While we continue to celebrate strong academic progress in our school, we are determined to maintain the emphasis on all-round growth in each child and this is reflected in our endeavours to ensure our students develop broad capabilities around responsibility, self-motivation, self-discipline and pride in themselves and their school, and in cooperation with and caring for others.

We are delighted to welcome Susan Harper to the position of School Council President for 2021. Susan fills us with great confidence as a parent who exudes passion for state education and in particular for our school and for representing the broad interests of all our students and their families. We are also encouraged by the enthusiasm of our 2021 PFA members. We look forward to your capable organisation of activities and continued support.

We have also welcomed a number of new staff who have fitted in wonderfully well and happily embraced the Carnegie culture. We thank all of our teachers and support staff for their hard work this term.
