WELLBEING UPDATE

MS MANDY MCCALLUM - DIRECTOR OF WELLBEING

It is with regret that we have accepted the resignation of our Educational Psychologist, Peta Goodman due to family reasons. This will take effect from the end of Term 3 and along with this, Josie Rovere our student counsellor, will be on Long Service Leave for all of Term 4. We are hoping to employ someone in the near future but in the interim we welcome Jorgie Allen to the Wellbeing Team.

Jorgie is presently employed as a Learning Support Officer and is also in her final year of a degree in Social Science, majoring in Behavioural Studies. Over the last week and for the remainder of the term Jorgie will shadow Josie and Peta in selected sessions with our students and this will enable her to build a rapport with them and learn new and different counselling techniques.

In Term 4 the Wellbeing department will be assisted by the CEO and Headspace who have also offered their support.

We wish Peta all the best for the future and thank her very much for her valued contribution to St Mary MacKillop College. We hope Josie enjoys her Long Service Leave and enjoys a well earned rest.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any concerns about your child’s wellbeing.
