Year 9 Camp

The Kinglake Year 9 camp is almost here and is running from 24 to 26 August. Consent and payment for this event has now closed. If your child is attending camp, they will have received a booklet of camp information, copies of which have also been emailed to parents/carers earlier in the term. If you have not received camp information or have any questions regarding the camp, please contact the College and speak to me or James Cowan-Clark.

Careers

The Year 10 Careers Week and Course Counselling sessions in week 3 were a great success, with a wide variety of trips and activities organised to support students in shaping their future pathway goals. In week 4 it was the Year 9 students' turn. The cohort had their first real opportunity to engage in designated future pathways focused content and discussions at the end of which, with the support of a Course Counsellor, they were able to select the subjects that will help them work towards their future employment goals.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

Thank you to everyone who put in the effort to attend the recent Parent/Teacher Conferences. This event provides a valuable opportunity to discuss the successes and challenges your child or children are experiencing in each of their classes and fosters a strong relationship and understanding between school and home, both of which are so influential on young people. If you were unable to attend or have further questions, then please don’t hesitate to contact the College and your students' teachers at any time.

SWPBS - PROGRESS REPORTS

Instead of positive green entries on Compass, in this Newsletter I would like to acknowledge different achievers. We recently released the first Progress Reports for Term 3. Below is a list of students who, during that reporting cycle, displayed exceptional commitment to their studies and their conduct in all their classes. They managed to achieve an average score of 3.9 or above across all their classes which is extraordinary considering this is out of a possible score of 4. Well done to you all and keep up the inspiring work!
