Thank You From The School of St Jude

The following is an extract we received from Gemma Sisia, founder of The School of St Jude in Tanzania after we made a donation to the school as part of our ongoing relationship:

Dear all at Trinity College Colac,

Thank you very much for continuing to support The School of St Jude and generously donating AU$1,000 towards supporting science and IT resources at St Jude’s. We pride ourself on helping our students to develop a love of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) as we nurture them to become the future leaders of their community and country.

With your generous support, you ensure that our students have learning resources to help them achieve their goals. Your donation contributes to equipping our IT and science labs and helping the school employ lab technicians, IT assistants and science teachers to assist our students. Your generous support also facilitates remarkable and impactful events such as our Annual Science Day, every year.

Your generous donation also helps our students to get access to IT resources in their classrooms. With ample IT resources, our students can expand their sources of information.  At St Jude’s, we have reliable internet which helps our students enjoy their ICT lessons. We are very fortunate that there is a laptop per student available while in their ICT classes.

Recently, our school also introduced online English as a Second Language (ESL) lessons to improve all our students’ fluency in English through online learning. All these are not possible without your generous support.

Your generous support of science and IT:

  • Covers the cost of the internet, making sure we stay connected
  • Ensures every student has access to a computer in ICT and ESL labs
  • Provides salaries of our science teachers and lab technicians
  • Gives access to materials and resources that help our students showcase their scientific and technology designs during the Annual Science Day
  • Gives our students access to laboratory equipment, chemicals and tests for chemistry, insects and plants for biology, and materials for physics
  • Keeps St Jude’s connected to our family of international donors with daily online communication

Kind Regards

Gemma Sisia
