FCIP 

This week our FCIP Intermediate Ensembles performed to a sold-out audience at their End of Year Showcase. Their repertoire included music from a range of popular films, both classic and new!  Well done, FCIP; we look forward to more performances from these Ensembles in 2023!

 

Queensland Catholic Colleges Music Festival (QCCMF)

 

QCCMF is an annual music event, which was held at Villanova College on Thursday 11 to Sunday 14 August, with 9000+ students, 350+ ensembles, and 100+ schools. Mount Alvernia joined with Padua College and St Anthony’s, performing under the name of the Franciscan Colleges Instrumental Program (FCIP), and showcasing the massive amount of talent across the schools.

 

After enduring many weeks of disruption to school attendance, instrumental lessons, and rehearsals, the students of the FCIP were able to perform extremely well for their family and friends and, at the same time, receive some awards.

 

The results of all ensembles including Mt A students can be seen below:

Gold

We are so proud of all students who performed - and performed extremely well!!

End-of-Year Showcases

 

Students are starting to prepare to move up to new ensembles in Term 4, therefore we are close to concluding the year for FCIP. This means that we have the chance to perform for our family and friends again at the end-of-year showcases. This week we started off with the Intermediate Showcase and, wow! what an amazing performance that was. The turn out of the audience was amazing and the music performed filled the stage with sound. It was truly incredible!

 

Next week on Friday 9 September, the Senior Showcase will showcase the best of the best in the FCIP. It will be Seniors’ last performance ever for the FCIP, and it will be a great night. Everyone is welcome to join - entry is via donation, and you can book your ticket through this link.  On 14 November is the Junior Showcase and, once again, this is always a great night for everyone involved, including the audience.
