CaSSSA - Term 3

Basketball

We have been extremely lucky to enter two Junior teams and 2 Senior teams into our CaSSSA competition this term. We are extremely proud of these girls who have put their heart and soul into the game of basketball. Currently, Junior Bs are placed 5th, Junior Ds are placed 6th, and Open As and Senior Ds are both sitting in 1st.

We would like to announce that our Opens and Senior D teams are both undefeated and therefore are hoping to play in a home grand final in San Damiano Centre in Week 10 on Wednesday 15 September. Support and encouragement from the Mt A community is very welcome, and it would be amazing to showcase our Mt A spirit and create an environment for the girls to excel.

From 16 to 19 September, our Opens team will be competing in the Molten Champion Basketball School of Queensland, otherwise known as the CBSQ tournament, on the Gold Coast. This year we are taking up the challenge and moving into Division 2 after being extremely competitive in past years in Division 3, placing top three every year. We wish them the best of luck in the tournament!

Overall, we are excited to see the results from the final weeks of the CaSSSA competition, and for our Intermediate teams to start training hard for next term’s competitions.

Football

There has been an amazing effort from all football teams with promising results.  The Year 10 team is currently in first place, with the hopes for a home premiership final; the Year 9 team is in 8th place, Year 8s are in 5th place and, finally, our Year 7 team is in 2nd place, with hopes of making the premiership final.

We wish all the students the best of luck as they go into the final rounds of football for the term.
