News from Year 4 & Year 5 

YEAR 4

The grade fours have been practicing their money and financial skills this term in maths. Throughout the term students have been able to earn rewards in the form of coins. These coins are then collected and the students can purchase items from the classroom store. Student have been really enjoying mastering their money skills and have all become really proficient with counting their money and also calculating change. 

YEAR 5

Our learning journey has taken a turn to the incredible and unbelievable. As part of our Light unit we have been discovering the incredible bioluminescent creatures God has created. Students have explored a range of creatures from squids to algae and will be presenting their findings to the rest of the class over the next week. This unit has seen us combine English, Science and Digital Technology as we celebrate God’s creation.

Our STEAM class has also been gaining momentum as we have now completed the plans, worked out the budget in preparation for our billy-cart build next week. Willow, our visiting therapy dog, was keen to check the final numbers before the order goes in.
