Grade 5/6
Term 4 Overview
In Literacy this term we are studying and analysing a class text called 'Boy Overboard' by Morris Gleitzman. This is a realistic fiction book which uses real life experiences in a made up story. It is rich with world wide concerns and looks at the issues families face as they migrate to Australia.
This term we are covering a range of topics from Chance, Volume, Capacity and Mass and Order of Operations while also revisiting all the topics we have covered over the year. To finish off the year, we are doing the fun Earn and Learn program for our financial maths unit.
Our Inquiry topic this term is Migration. "We are one, but we are many.'
We look at our world and those that have migrated to Australia and the reasons why they have left a place, the hardships, stories of hope and how Australia is so multicultural.
