Foundation (Prep)

Welcome to Term 4!

What a great week we've had. In Literacy, we continue to work on our personal goals in writing. Things we are looking for in Foundation are: writing the sounds we can hear, using spaces between our words, using a full stop at the end of a sentence and using capital letters correctly.

We have been practising working in a small group during Reader's Workshop and are excited to welcome some of our family in to help us, starting from next week. We have focused on asking questions when we read, before, during and after reading a book.

In Maths, we revisited work on patterns and had a go at showing where the pattern repeats. It was also fun to do some more work with maps and create our own treasure map. We also made a key to show where to find important places on our map.

During Inquiry lessons, we continued our discussions around reducing the amount of rubbish that is sent to landfill and which items we could recycle. Students made their own bins and labelled them to help them identify what goes in each one. We then wrote about rubbish and recycling, to show our understanding of our discussions so far.
