Class of 2022 Celebration Day
This week we celebrated our Class of 2022 with a final Chapel, assembly, picnic and Valedictory dinner. Students were presented with their graduation certificates, awards and students received a gift bag. In the assembly I read the story ‘The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy'. The picture story book is about a lonely boy who finds companionship, firstly meeting the mole, then the fox and then the horse. It is a story of friendship and life lessons.
The key messages for our graduating class were:
- Take one step at a time and savour the moment in time in order to follow dreams and aspirations
- Life is not perfect and sometimes the road ahead has its ups and down
- Ask for help as this is a sign of strength and not weakness
- Love yourself and love others as love makes the world a better place
One of the key lines in the story is:
‘Always remember you matter, you're important and you are loved, and you bring to this world things no one else can’.
A beautiful statement of positivity.
The story was linked to what does God say about love?
Love is patient and kind;
love does not envy or boast;
it is not arrogant or rude.
It does not insist on its own way;
it is not irritable or resentful;
it does not rejoice at wrongdoing,
but rejoices with the truth.
Love bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
The picnic was an opportunity for students to enjoy some time together before attending the Valedictory dinner with their families and teachers. It was a great night of celebration.
We wish our VCE and VCAL students all the best as they embark on exams or start apprenticeships or work.
At the final assembly the following students were presented with awards and we congratulate them on their commitment to the wider life of the College.

Middle School Play – Alice in Wonderland
What a successful production, ably led by Ms Armstrong and supported by a strong team of staff and Year 10 students! The Year 10 Theatrecraft students led the way as the production and staging crew. This was part of the assessment for the subject and what better way to demonstrate your skills than in putting on a production for a public audience? The Middle School students who made up the cast performed to a very appreciative audience in what was a fun show. The excitement of the preshow tea party and the opportunity to mingle with the cast was a real buzz for the audience. The students performed to almost sell-out audiences and involvement in events like this goes a long way to developing confidence, tenacity and commitment. Congratulations to all involved!
Open Evening
Open evening is on Tuesday 25 October from 4pm-7pm. This is an opportunity to share with the wider community some exciting events such as the Art and Design Show and the Performance Showcase, as well as market and food stalls. Student leaders will conduct tours for prospective families. Word of mouth continues to be our strongest marketing avenue and hence we encourage parents to promote this event and to come along and see your school.
