Term ends

As we head towards the end of term 3, there is still so much to happen in the remaining days of what has proven to be a very busy term!

This afternoon and tomorrow afternoon students, parents, and teachers have an opportunity to come together for our 3 Way Conferences. This is a chance to share learning from the term, celebrate successes and plan for future goals. We hope everyone enjoys the opportunity to touch base.

Our whole school assembly will be taking place on Friday 16th September at 2pm. Families are welcome to attend.

Parent/Carers Opinion Survey

Survey on Compass
Survey on Compass

As shared in previous newsletters, this year we have distributed our Parent/Carers Opinion Survey to all families. At the moment, we only have a 17% response rate. We are hoping that all families will complete the survey this year, as the results are highly valued in terms of continuous improvement and future planning for our school. If you haven’t already, please take the time to complete this survey.

Information is available on Compass. The survey period closes on Friday 16th September.

Farewell

This week we farewell Stefan Condello as he takes a period of extended leave to pursue other opportunities. We thank Stef for his work this year in 6A. Georgie Murphy will replace Stef as 6A’s classroom teacher on Mondays and Tuesdays for the remainder of the year.

We would like to send our heartfelt congratulations and warm wishes to Emma and Dom as they welcomed baby Julian Robert Lawrence on 18th August 2022.

Everyone is doing well.

NAPLAN

Our NAPLAN results were sent home last week for our Year 3 and Year 5 students. We are incredibly proud of our Year Three and Five students as they completed all NAPLAN tests online for the first time this year.

Our student’s achievements are a testament to the hard work and commitment to learning and teaching demonstrated by our students, teachers, parents, and wider school community. However, we would like to take this opportunity to remind our students and families that NAPLAN is just one measure of student academic performance - a snapshot of learning from one week in the year.

We will endeavour to share a summary of NMPS’s overall performance with the school community in Term 4 once national data has been released.

Bring a Bloke to Breakfast

A huge thank you to our Parents and Friends Association for organising our Bring a Bloke to Breakfast event on Friday 2nd September. What a wonderful success! It was lovely to see the school filled with students and families once again. Please check out our P&F pages for more photos of the event.

Molesworth Street Campus Update

There is a hive of activity happening across the project over the next two weeks. The gym slab is already poured. The installation of wall framing and ceiling sheeting is ongoing across the levels. Stairs between levels 2 and 4 are now completed.

More milestones are planned for the coming fortnight. The brick veneer wall on the southern side will be completed and balustrades will go into place, too. Sanding of the walls in preparation for painting on level 1 will begin soon, with ceiling grids and sheeting will continue to be installed across levels 1 to 4. The landing concrete pour for stairs on level 1 will start, and installation of the building’s lift system will begin.
