Dear families,
Welcome to Term 4. I hope the holidays provided the time for your children to rest and re-energize for the final term of the year.
Over the holiday break the school was a vibe of activity with our Unit 4 VCE students undertaking practice exams or extra classes in most subjects. I would like to commend the students for committing to this extra work that is designed to help them prepare for their VCAA external examinations that are approaching fast. I would also like to thank the teachers for giving up their holiday time to support the students.
Our VCAL and Year 12 students who are not undertaking VCAA exams finished their formal classes at the end of term 3 in order to get a head start with job opportunities in the community.
A number of these students have already secured employment and have begun work, which is fantastic. I want to wish all our Year 12 students who finished at the end of last term the best of luck with their future pathways and I look forward to seeing them next Friday when we celebrate the final day together.
In the first week of the holidays our students and staff who went on the Top End Tour returned.
Despite being very tired they reported that the trip was fantastic. The feedback from our staff was also very positive as they reported that the students represented their school with distinction and displayed impeccable manners and behaviour at all times.
Our Robotics Team have also had more success in the National Titles that were held in Adelaide last weekend. The team made the final 8, which is an outstanding result. I would like to thank the parents of the team members for supporting this trip and Mr Graeme Stewart for helping with the organization despite being on leave.
Term 4 is sure to be another busy time here at Trinity. Sporting teams have already started competing against other schools, our 2023 Year 12 student leaders were commissioned today and our Year 12 students will have their final day next Friday.
I would like to congratulate and thank all current Year 11 students who put their names forward for leadership positions, while not all were successful with their applications, all Year 12 students are leaders of our school and are role models for all other students.
To those students who were elected, congratulations you should be very proud of this achievement. We are very excited about the difference our Year 12 student leaders will be able to make to Trinity College in 2023.
From a staffing perspective, we welcomed back Mrs Natalie Holt and Mr Graeme Stewart from their Long Service Leave. I would like to thank Mrs Jade Elborough for taking on the role of Director of Students while Nat was away and Mr Ryan Geary for stepping into the role of Year 11 Coordinator to replace Jade. I would also like to thank Mr Colin McGowan for stepping in to cover Graeme’s classes while he was away.
I sincerely hope that Term 4 is an enjoyable one for all students at Trinity College, a term where they can continue to learn and reveal the qualities and values that are integral to our school.
