Health Updates - E-cigarettes

Children vaping has become a huge issue of late, highlighted by the 7 News Spotlight story last weekend. The investigation revealed nearly every vape that was tested in a scientific lab contains nicotine despite this not being mentioned on the labels.

The Federal Health Minister, Mark Butler has announced the biggest smoking reforms we’ve ever had.

The Australian Government will ban:

  • ALL non-prescription vapes, including those that do contain nicotine and those that don’t.
  • Fun packaging and they will look like prescription medication.
  • All single use, disposable vapes.
  • There will be ‘quality’ standards put in place restricting flavours, colours and other ingredients.

REMEMBER!

It is illegal to use, sell or buy nicotine for use in e-cigarettes to anyone in Australia without a prescription.

For those who already find themselves addicted to e-cigarettes or wanting to stop using here are some helpful services.
