Brighton Secondary College - Year 5 Excursion

Paige, Clara and Zoe E

On the 14th of June, the Year 5s took part in spending a day at Brighton Secondary College. We experienced activities and took a tour of the school, and we were introduced to students and staff members that showed us around BSC. This was a great experience for the Year 5s to be a part of, as a ‘taste of high school’, in our upcoming years.

A fascinating part of the BSC day was the art. We all got involved in crafts, making our own bookmarks and fridge magnets. We had a wide range of activities to do throughout the day, including PE, Student Agency, Science, and Art.

One of the subjects we took part in was Science, we learnt about methane bubbles and acidity levels. At the end of that lesson, we had an exhilarating activity – Mrs Seabrook got her hands set on fire! The methane bubbles rested in her palms, they are extremely flammable, so when the lighter came near, BANG! It was over in a second, and luckily it didn’t actually burn Mrs Seabrook! It was a very fun and engaging excursion.

Thank you to Brighton Secondary College!
