Thank you to eveyone who are able to attend the very first EPS Lego Masters on Friday 16th June. The weather was very kind to us, and all teams demonstrated the Learner Assets of Communicator and Collaborator.
During Term 3,10 teams worked tirelessly during their lunchtimes in the STEAM room to enter the Spike Prime Competition.
Teams were required to build a robot with animalistic qualities, code that robot to move, record all learning in a journal, and film a 3 minute video detailing the process.
Well done to the following students for meeting all of the entry requirements:
STEAM in Term 3
Prep
Prep students will be inquiring into materials and how things work in their Big Question. During STEAM.... think Rube Goldberg machines...
Year 1/2
Year 1/2 students will be focusing on chemical science during STEAM. This incredibly engaging unit will see many experiments! It's going to get messy!
Year 3/4
Year 3/4 students will be immersed in all things Claymation! We are very lucky to have Heather Britton (grandmother of Frankie Hyde) assisting us. Heather has worked with schools to create numerous award winning Claymations.
Year 5/6
It's on! Year 5/6 students will be working in House groups to compete in the inaugural EPS Robo Soccer Cup.
Students will be required to design, build, and program two robots to compete in a dynamic game of robot soccer against an opposing pair of robots.
The winner of the House Competition will represent EPS at the National Championships in October. Watch this space!
Stay curious!
