Acting Principal's Report

We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.

We pay our respects and thank the Wadawurrung people.

May we share your land. We promise to look after it, as well as the animals and people too.

Tabloid Sports

What an incredibly enjoyable and well-attended event we hosted onsite for our students and families last week. Thank you so much to our school community for attending and supporting our junior athletes. As always, our student leaders shone by helping in the organisation of the day and providing encouragement and support to our children throughout the event. A big thank you to Katherine, Miss Wood and all of the teachers for their commitment to making this event one to remember.

Education Week

We started this week with a fabulous launch of Education Week, with our school community in the Gymnasium. Following a school assembly we literally launched ourselves into moving and grooving in recognition of this year's theme for Education Week - Active Learners: Move, Make, Motivate. Thank you to Miss Wood for leading this momentous movement. Lots of great learning opportunities have been planned for our students across the week with an opportunity to showcase their learning on Friday.

Open Afternoon

Free on Friday? Please come along and visit our classrooms and engage in some learning with your child/ren. We value our connections with our school and our teachers, and especially our students are looking forward to welcoming families into our learning environments this Friday.

Communication

We know that communication between school and home, supports the success of learning and wellbeing and strengthens partnerships between families and school. We pride ourselves at Miners Rest Kindergarten and School in being approachable, considerate of the ideas of others and holding true to our values of courage, kindness and respect at all times.

We will always welcome families who wish to discuss concerns, are needing to seek clarity on decisions or arrangements, or needing support. We encourage our families to seek the right forums to communicate and know that support is always available for you. At anytime, families are most welcome to make a meeting with, or request a call from, their classroom teacher, or make an appointment to meet with myself.

Please enjoy the rest of the week and I hope to see you at our Open Afternoon this Friday!
