Thank you to those families who have responded to our survey regarding second-hand uniform management. We will keep the survey open during May and would very much appreciate any feedback families may have about their needs and preferences regarding second hand uniforms and the Sustainable Schools Shop website. If you need any second-hand items please visit the Sustainable School Shop where Solway has an account: https://www.sustainableschoolshop.com.au/stocktake/solway-primary-school  That link shows you what's available.

Registering with the site allows you to view seller's contact details, list items you want to move on, as well as post a notice for what you need. The website doesn't support pictures of items, so be sure to let people know if you're willing to text a photo of your item.

Why not an in-person shop at school?

Prior to the pandemic, Solway ran a monthly onsite uniform shop where parents could find new and used uniform items (next to the performing arts room). Following the pandemic, Solway hasn't had the volunteer numbers to run the second-hand shop as it did.  As a result, an online service was the solution.

That said, we will always welcome volunteers to help with our school community's needs  team work makes the dream work! - so if you are interested in being part of the 2nd hand uniform team and volunteering some of your time, please contact Alison at alison.r.crawford@gmail.com

Mending!

We would like to support families with mending their clothes, and not just uniform items. If this interests you please email Alison alison.r.crawford@gmail.com  or Leslie leslie.dundon@gmail.com and let us know what might work for you. We're imagining a regular meet-up to share resources and mending skills, but we need an idea of numbers and interest to go ahead.
