Cross Country – Monday

Our annual House Cross-Country event for grades 3 to 6 was held on Monday and was a great success. The student’s put in an amazing effort and gave it their all. It is always inspiring to see our kids try their hardest and strive to do their best! It was fantastic to see so many families in attendance to cheer on their kids. I simply love our Eastie Community – it is heart warming to watch, everyone supports everyone -the encouragement, the cheering, the congratulations.

Our winners were award ribbons to acknowledge their achievements and our age champions were awarded special medallions.

Little Easties – Tuesday

Our first group of Little Easties kicked off this week and wow, what a group! We had 14 little Easties visit the school to see all the amazing things we do. Tuesday’s session was run by our Prep Teacher, Ms Gusman and supported by Serren and together, they took the kids on a “Bear Hunt” touring all areas of the school. They created some colourful bear ears and listened and danced to the story “We’re going on a Bear Hunt”. The kids were amazing and had a ball! Next week our Little Easties will get to be entertained by Mr Holmfield being immersed in many fun and interactive games.

FOODBANK Cooking Classes

Our second FOODBANK Cooking session ran on Tuesday. Again, it was fantastic. The families made fried rice in lettuce cups and again, took home with them a hamper of food and some recipes to help continue the fun and build on the learnt skills at home. We look forward to session 3 next week!

Indonesian Incursion & COVID

Unfortunately the Indonesian Incursion that was planned for this week had to be postponed due to COVID. Hopefully this incursion can be rescheduled later in the term.

Parents please be aware that COVID is very much having impact on our school community at the moment. A number of students, families and staff have tested positive so far this term. Our school policy - once a student has tested positive for COVID-19, you are to inform the school as soon as possible and your child is to stay home from school (isolate) for 5 days before returning to school and if a family member (who does not attend EEPS) has tested positive, your child/ren may attend school (if symptom free), but are required to wear a mask. Please continue to be diligent, sanitise and help keep our community well.

Mother’s Day – Level 2

Yesterday the Level 2s celebrated Mother’s Day in the BER with lots a fabulous activities for all. Mum’s got a very special manicure in Ms Church’s room, they helped created a beautifully decorated biscuits for their mum in Mrs P’s Room, in Ms Sim’s classroom, they decorated coffee cups and had an amazing coffee or hot chocolate and Mrs Holmfield had prepared some beautiful jars of succulents for the mums to take home. It was a wonderful turn out we hope our Mum’s (and special someone’s) enjoy the celebrations.

We all wish our Eastie Mum’s a very Happy Mothers Day on Sunday! You all certainly deserved to be spoiled!
