The Story of Noah

Next week, I'll be sharing the story of Noah with the Junior Years students. It's a great story about animals, and I'm excited because I love animals, like my dogs Bruce and Barney!

Long ago, people weren't very kind to each other and didn't follow God's will. God was sad, but Noah was different. He loved God and wanted to do what was right.

God asked Noah to build a big boat called an ark. He planned to send a flood to wash away the bad and start fresh with good people. Noah faithfully built the ark, even though it took a long time. When it was done, God told Noah to take his family and two of every animal onto the ark. Noah followed God's instructions and gathered the animals.

For 40 days and nights, it rained, but Noah, his family, and the animals were safe on the ark. They patiently waited for the rain to stop and the flood to subside. God was pleased with Noah for listening and promised to never flood the earth again.

The story of Noah teaches us important lessons. First, do the right thing, even when it's difficult. We'll face challenges, but if we follow God's ways, we'll be blessed and protected. Second, be patient and trust in God's timing. Things may seem slow, but His timing is perfect. Third, work hard toward our goals and dreams. Noah's task was enormous, and it required dedication and effort. Finally, we must take care of God's creation, just as Noah cared for the animals. This includes looking after the environment and every child under our care.
