FOUNDATION VISITS OLD TIMERS

Our school and Old Timer’s have made a connection with the Foundation class visiting the residents at Flynn Lodge on a fortnightly basis. We had our first visit on the 10th of May and all children really enjoyed their time there. While there we did some colouring in and to end the session the students sang a song for the residents. The students cannot wait to go back and do fun things together.

VILLAGE CAMP AT THE OLD TELEGRAPH STATION

First Living Waters camp of the year is done and dusted!

Our Village enjoyed experiencing life at the Telegraph Station as part of their Inquiry unit about how things change over time.

They participated in many curriculum linked activities including:

Playing old children's games

Following a recipe to cook damper

Sending Morse code messages

Role playing school in the past

Paper origami folding in Visual Arts

Washing using a yoke and mangle

Measuring capacity using river sand

Finding tracks as a part of Culture studies

An alphabet hunt of God's glory while hiking

A scavenger Hunt to find locations of old images

The happy faces of these students says it all, and it is thanks to our amazing Village team and the parents who volunteered to help.
