Bike It Program - Year 3-6

Last Wednesday the students in Years 3-6 were lucky enough to be involved in our first ever ‘Bike It Day’. During this event students learnt about the importance of safety on their bikes and they participated in cycling activities and challenges, to learn new skills and gain points for their team. All teachers were extremely proud of the resilience and tenacity that students showed throughout the day. There were students who were terrified to get on a bike at first and by the end of the day could ride without support. There were other students who blitzed the challenges and offered wonderful words of encouragement to their peers as countless staff supported them, with smiles from ear to ear, acknowledging the sensational efforts of our students. A big thank you to Melanie and the team at Whitehorse Council, for giving us this opportunity and for the hard work behind the scenes, setting up all the equipment and challenges. It really was a fantastic experience to be involved in.

I could rave about this all day, but the smiles on all the students' faces paints the best picture of all.

National Walk to School Day last Friday

Last Friday we took part in the National Walk to School Initiative. It was fantastic  to see so many families and students get involved. We want to encourage all students to walk, skate or ride to school as often as possible.

Soccer at St John's

Over the past few weeks our students have been working with Soccer coaches from S4S Academy. If you would be interetsed in your child attending an after school soccer skills program please contact Peter on the attached Flyer.

They were hoping for a Friday night program at our school so please let Peter know if you are interested.
