Uniforms

Uniform orders are filled on Mondays. 

Completed order forms need to be at the school by Friday in order to be returned to your child by Monday.

Lunch orders are available on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The Japanese  Word of the Fortnight

すみません(pronounced ‘sumimasen’) which means ‘Excuse me’ and ‘sorry’ is the Japanese Word for Week 6 and 7 of Term 1. You can use ‘すみません’ (‘sumimasen’) instead of ‘Excuse me’ when you would like to have someone’s attention OR when you would like to apologise to someone.

BOOKCLUB

Due to an error in the new system at Scholastic, our order has been overlooked. They are now working as quickly as possible to get it fixed.

Grade 3 Reptile Encounters

On Thursday 25th February, the Grade 3 students participated in an interactive and educational wildlife incursion. Students learned about different animal features and their habitats. All students got an opportunity to touch and hold about 7 different animals.

Some of the reptiles and insects were: Goliath Stick Insects, Saltwater Crocodile, Olive Python, Murray Darling Carpet Python, Shingleback Lizard, Frilled Neck Lizard, Magnificent Tree Frog and a Long Necked Turtle. Grade 3 students will continue to apply their knowledge about reptiles as we continue with our Science unit of ‘Living and Non- living things’. It was a great learning experience for everyone. 

GRADE 2 - LIFE CYCLES

Grade 2 had some special visitors come and join them for a week as they were learning about life cycles in Science. Students really enjoyed watching the chickens grow and were able to hold and watch the chickens run around. “Their wings grew and were so fluffy!” “The chicks are adorable!” 

AFTER SCHOOL OR LUNCHTIME ACTIVITIES

We have our outside providers commencing their programs again this term. These programs are an additional cost to parents and must be paid for before children begin.

VALKSTONE PS OUTSIDE HOURS CARE Curriculum & School Holiday Program Information 

On Tuesday the Curriculum day program and the April School holiday program will be available  through OSHC and the school  office.

Instructions on how to book will be attached to the program and all bookings are now made on line through Xplor.

Bookings open on Tuesday 9th March and close on Friday 26th March.
