Literacy

In English this term we will be focusing on improving our comprehension skills, including sequencing events in texts, comparing and contrasting points of view and finding directly stated information.  We will be exploring different phonological foci each week, as well as improving our understanding of different aspects of grammar.  In Writing, we will be concentrating on writing to inform and writing to persuade.  

Numeracy

In Mathematics this term we will be focusing on extending our number knowledge, including place value, multiplication, addition and subtraction.  During the term we will also be exploring length and perimeter and a unit on data generation and analysis. 

Inquiry/Religion

Our Inquiry unit for Term 1 is ‘Healthy, Wealthy and Wise’, where we look at personal health and wellbeing. We will explore the different elements of health - physical, social, emotional and how these contribute to one's overall wellbeing. We will also explore government facilities and programs set up to sustain personal health and wellbeing.

In Religion we will be exploring Jesus’ commandment to love one another,The significance of personal responsibility in maintaining right relationships and in making choices in light of Jesus’ commandment to love one another.
