Swimming Carnival

On Wednesday 24 February we held our annual swimming carnival for the Primary and Early Years classes.  This was a great day filled with lots of enthusiasm and House spirit.  One of the most enjoyable parts of the day was seeing the students smiling and congratulating each other as they finished their races and the squeals of excitement that were coming from the Early Years classes as they happily splashed away in their events in the smaller pool.

A huge thank you goes to Mrs Dennis and Ms Stuart for all their hard work in organising the day and ensuring that it not only ran smoothly but that all students had the opportunity to participate at their own level of ability.  Thank you to the staff and parent volunteers who had differing jobs on the day and to our Year 10 House Leaders who came along to assist for the day.

Our Primary House Captains did an amazing job throughout the day not only leading by example in the pool but also supporting the younger students and making sure their Houses were cheering loudly and proudly on the sidelines.

Finally, I would like to congratulate all our students from Year 1 through to Year 6 who participated with great sportsmanship and House spirit.

At the end of the day it came down to the relays to see who was going to walk away with the trophy.  Carmel House ended up victorious closely followed by Loreto and Lourdes.

On the following page are our Primary House Captains reports and photos from the day.

Parent - Teacher Conferences

At Mount Carmel College we value the importance of building strong and respectful relationships with our families.  We believe that when these positive relationships are formed they can have significant benefits for the emotional wellbeing and academic outcomes for the students.

Next week, on Tuesday 16 and Thursday 18 March, we will be offering our Parent Teacher meetings for Kindergarten to Year 6 in Providence House.  These meetings will allow parents to sit with their child’s teacher and discuss matters of concern or to set some achievable goals for them.

Information about these meetings and how to make your booking is available on EdSmart.  If you have booked a Learning Plan meeting then you do not need to book a Parent Teacher.

If you encounter any issues with the booking system please contact Student Services.
