In Semester 2, the talented Year 8 and 9 Visual Communication Design students were introduced to the wonderful and exciting area of design. They learnt that there are three fields of design: Communication, Industrial and Environmental. The Year 9 students worked in the field of Communication Design using the Design Process to research, generate, develop and refine their concepts into fabulous final presentations. The students also learnt and worked with the professional software program Adobe Illustrator to complete their designs. The student’s  ‘Mini Me’ characters are inspired by their own visual appearance, personality traits and items that are important to them.

Visual Communication Design - Year 10 Architecture

In Semester 2, the talented Year 10 Visual Communication Design students studied Architecture in the field of Environmental Design. The students were able to make their own choice of architectural structure to design. Cafes, townhouses, family homes, and restaurants were some of their choices. The students followed a Brief, researched existing architecture to inspire them, then generated, developed and refined their own concepts using the design process. The students then completed scale architectural floor plans and elevations and completed these designs as 3D digital models using the software ‘SketchUp’.
