Wellbeing

Congratulations to the successful candidates for Student Leadership positions for 2022 (see attachment). The elections ran efficiently and were modeled on our preferential system of voting using ballot papers, booths and boxes from the Australian Electoral Commission.

Students from each year level were able to nominate themselves and prepare a video  outlining their skills and contributions to the school community. The quality of these presentations was high and all candidates should be proud of their presentations.

Unfortunately the number of leadership positions are limited. We encourage each student who missed out on a position to get involved in the many extra curricular opportunities available at the College.  Killester appreciates your enthusiasm and  willingness to contribute to our school community.

Thursday December 2 was a Casual Clothes Day for all students and comfortable clothing was the order of the day with such humid weather. We held a fundraiser for BASP (Brigidine Asylum Seeker Project) and we raised $693.50 for this very worthy cause. Thank you to the whole Killester community for giving so generously.

Ms Kokoszka did a “Shave for Cancer” at lunchtime on the same day and we applaud her for her bravery for another worthy cause which is very close for Sandy and her family. Many staff and students gathered to witness the shave and once again the Killester school community showed their support with generous contributions.

We come to the end of another testing year for students and their families and we are grateful that we managed to end the school year without interruption after the Melbourne Cup weekend. We know that it has been another tough year academically, emotionally and socially for our students and we admire their resilience and willingness to try to overcome the many challenges that 2021 has presented.

We wish all students and families a very merry Christmas and most importantly an enjoyable and safe summer holiday. Stay connected with family and friends and we look forward to seeing you back happy and healthy at the beginning of February 2022.
