Handy Maths Tips and Links for the Holidays

The school year is drawing to a close and the students will be at home for a number of weeks before returning to a new school year! What can you do at home to encourage your child to continue to learn mathematics?

 

Use mathematical language every day. Some examples include:

  • Using fractions and capacity when cooking
  • Talking about money when out shopping
  • Looking for shapes, objects and patterns when at a playground or on a walk.

There is also a large number of websites children can explore and have fun with. These online games could help develop fluency in mathematics. Here are a few:
