Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Program

Congratulations to Georgia Martin on receiving a scholarship to the Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars (KLDYS) program through the Melbourne University.  This is a big honour and a wonderful achievement.  Georgia was selected from over 1500 applicants and is 1 of 520 successful students.

Georgia applied for the scholarship after seeing the details on our Compass newsfeed.  It was a lengthy application process, Georgia spent many days working on her application. A prerequisite of the application was a recommendation from staff,  a member of our Careers team was very keen to support Georgia's application.

The KLDYS program is an academic enrichment program designed to support high achieving Victorian Year 11 and Year 12, and select secondary students living close to the New South Wales and South Australian borders.

This prestigious program provides students the opportunity to experience university life and take part in a range of academic events and activities – plus get a head start on future studies and career!  If students achieve certain ATAR prerequisites after successful completion of  their secondary studies, students have access to a place in an undergraduate degree, financial assistance to move to Melbourne, and an overseas scholarship during studies.

Georgia will have the opportunity to attend a welcome event, VCE revision lectures, personal development workshops, overnight adventures on campus, celebration events with family and more.

Georgia is unsure of her future career path, she thought that she may be interested in law and did some work experience, but not sure that it is her 'thing', Georgia is now leaning towards politics or accounting.  We are sure that whatever Georgia chooses she will be amazing.

Congratulations Georgia on achieving this scholarship, it is definitely something to be celebrated!  We wish Georgia all the best in her VCE journey.
