Clontarf Cooking with Mackenzie
written by Joe Mullett - Year 7
On Thursday the 18th of November Mackenzie came into Clontarf to make choc chip pancakes with me. Jemma and Viv came into Clontarf to bring in Mackenzie to interact with more people and make him feel happy and welcomed.
The way we made choc chip pancakes was –
Step 1 – First I measured out 4 cups of plain flour and then gave it to Mackenzie to sift into the bowl.
Step 2- We measured 2 cups of self-raising flour and 1 cup of sugar. Mackenzie then put it into the bowl.
Step 3 – I cracked four eggs into a cup and I gave the eggs to Viv and Mackenzie to put in the bowl.
Step 4 – We put the milk in the bowl and I helped Mackenzie mix it with the electric beater.
Step 5 – Next, we added some vanilla essence and the choc chips into the mix and mixed it until it thickened.
Step 6 – Jemma and I cooked the choc chip pancakes and they tasted delicious.
It was good to get to know Mackenzie better and to help and show him around the room. I felt good being a role model and I liked that I could help out Turk, Brady, Jemma and Viv, but most of all Mackenzie. We have booked in to do it again, we are going to make a cake together.
