Though Le Tour de Montagnes Bleus at Wentworth Falls was foiled by rainy weather, Springwood was blessed with glorious sunny weather on Thursday and Le Tour de Vallée took place amid much excitement and enthusiasm.

Check out the posts on social media. There were great French outfits at both campuses and we all enjoyed some delicious croissants and pain de chocolat. Merci, Madame O’Hara!

As we hurtle towards the end of the year we have started our 2022 Orientation events. We welcomed all incoming Year 5s to their Orientation Day on Monday and look forward to our Early Learning Orientation Days next week. Before long we will be looking forward to our annual Year 6 Fun Day at Wentworth Falls, our Year 6 Farewell and of course, Presentation Day. Add to that a plethora of Christmas parties, final assemblies and so forth and you can see that the next three weeks will be very busy indeed. Keep an eye on the calendar and your emails and, as always, please call us if you have any questions.

As I continue my farewells to departing staff, today we focus on Mr Josh Wagenfeller, our much-loved and rangy Pre-Kindergarten teacher at Springwood.

Over thirty years in the profession and I must admit, I have never seen anything so spectacularly unexpected yet affirming as an affable, lofty, young man in a classroom full of 4-year olds. From Week 1 he had his charges eating out of his hands and it wasn’t long before those on the 2-day program were demanding that their parents increase their days to 3 so that they could spend more time at school. This didn’t please Ollie and Kinga at the time, who had been used to having Mr Wagenfeller all to themselves! Mr Wagenfeller’s easygoing, friendly nature has made him a welcome member of our team at Springwood and his knowledge of what is important in teaching in an early childhood setting has provided his children with an opportunity to explore their wonders and curiosities as they continue to learn under his nurturing care. We had hoped he would stay forever, but instead we wish Mr Wagenfeller all the happiness he deserves as he marries this summer and relocates to Coffs Harbour.

We hope we may see you again one day, Mr W!

Le Tour De Montagnes Bleues

Bonjour tout le monde!

Malheureusement le Tour de Montagnes Bleues n’a pas eu lieu.

We had a washout and our oval was not suitable for the fun that is the annual bicycle race. What a year 2021 has  been! We made the most of the situation and had a French themed dress-up day with French snacks and drinks for all the children.

So much fun was had and some of the outfits were very imaginative. The movie afternoon was much enjoyed, Ratatouille and Madeline were extremely popular choices. It was such a light-hearted and relaxing day for the students that it almost made up for the missed Tour!

Au revoir et Vive le Tour!
