This Week in the Library...
Welcome to Week 8! While the term is winding down quickly, we’re still busy in the library.
This week, I'm beginning to read some of the new Christmas books that have arrived in the library. Students are loving ‘Not Another Book About Santa’ by Laura & Philip Bunting. Santa quits being in books because he’s just too busy so he tries to find a replacement. It’s lots of fun and a great to read.
Years 3 - 6 are also busy finishing off their term projects on genre by creating slideshows and Kahoots, which we’ll be playing some next week. Stage 2’s genre slides have been great and led to some interesting discussions about what stories we like (and dislike!).
K-2 has been busy over the past few weeks using the World Book Web website to learn about animals found in John Canty’s Heads & Tails Insects and Underwater. I’ve been amazed how easily students have been able to access the QR code and start searching. Students have take the QR code home so they can access this site from any device. Get them to show you what they’ve learned. The QR code is below.
Term 4 Book Club
Orders for Book Club close tomorrow morning (Wednesday, 24th November) at 9am. Unfortunately, there will be no extensions as we they will not arrive before the end of the year. We encourage families to please use the Scholastic online LOOP payment system as these ensure orders are posted to us quickly. Thanks to families who have participated in this program throughout the year, we really appreciate your support.
LIBRARY CLOSING WEEK 9 - please return all library books.
As the end of term is fast approaching, it’s now time for students to return their library books ahead of our stocktake in Week 10. Next week will be the final library lesson for the year and we need those books back! If you can’t find books at home
We’ve decorated the library, the Christmas books are out and Santa has arrived in the library. It’s such a fun time of the year!
Happy reading,
Mrs Toni Fraser
