This week we are our continuing gymnastics unit of work. Please get your Ipads ready as we will be developing last week’s sequence work. So find yourself some space to work in safely and let’s develop our sequences in gymnastics.
Task 1: As part of your warm up complete ‘Mrs Travis’ workouts.’ Using your Ipad go through your sequence that you created last week.
Sequence should consist of the following:
A start, 2 different ways of rolling, link the balances and rolls together, 2 different ways of travelling anywhere in your sequence and a finish.
Do I need to make any changes based on the feedback I received from my parents? Make changes.
Task 2: Choose a piece of music and perform your sequence to the music. Vary in your sequence the timing, levels and speed of movements.
Task 3: Using your Ipad, record your performance. Do I need to make any changes?
Task 4: Perform your work in front of an audience and get feedback.
Parent Tip: Please give constructive feedback to your child, how could they improve the quality of their movements, were the balances held for 3 seconds, did they vary their timing, levels. A couple of examples of what you enjoyed about their performance.
Task 5: In your ‘Specialist’ Exercise book write a short account of the moves you’ve created in your sequence and on the feedback you received. List 3 further improvements you could make to your sequence.
Useful Links
It is important to stay active and healthy during these times. It is recommended that students participate in 30 minutes of physical activity each day. This could include jogging, running, skipping or practicing ball skills. We have included some links with additional activities and Mrs Travis' workouts from home. (Parent Tip - the workouts can be repeated and your child can choose and decide how many repetitions of an exercise they do) . Children and parents can actively get involved and exercise together.

Art - Tuesday
Well done for starting your memory book last lesson. I hope you were creative with your front cover design. Remember this project is all about your time at BPS. Have a think before you start the task today of some of your favourite memories of school.
Your task today is to create the first page of your book that you started last lesson. This page is the one directly after your front cover.
Task 1: Watch the video to remind you of the proportions when drawing a portrait:
Task 2: Draw a self-portrait of you in your school uniform. Start with a grey lead pencil to do the outline. Remember to press really lightly for the outline and the guiding lines so that you can erase them later. It’s your choice if you would like to do a tonal drawing and continue using your grey lead pencil to add light and shade (like we have been learning), OR you can choose to add colour, I would suggest using coloured pencils or another drawing material that blends colours nicely. If you choose to use colour, challenge yourself to see if you can add light and shade with your colour too!
Reflection:
What can this portrait be used as a reminder of?
What memories are the clearest for you from your years at BPS?
For Parents: Talk to your child about how they have changed over their school years.
