Task 1: As part of your warm up complete ‘Mrs Travis’ workouts’. Remind yourself of the work we did last week. Find a chair/partner and perform 5 different balances. Remember do not stand on the chair when balancing.

Task 2: Create a maximum of 5 different ways of rolling.

Parent Tip. Forward roll is optional: If your child is performing a forward roll please make sure their head does not touch the ground when rolling. Head should be tucked in and back round. (Please refer to video for teaching points).

Task 3: Choose 2-3 favourite ways of rolling and link them to your favourite partner balances/chair balances. Change the height and speed in which you are working on.

Extension Task – Add 2 balances to your sequence work.

Task 4: Add 2 jumps (Straight, tucked, star or turning jump) into your sequence.

It is important to stay active and healthy during these times. It is recommended that students participate in 30 minutes of physical activity each day. This could include jogging, running, skipping or practicing ball skills. We have included some links with additional activities and Mrs Travis' workouts from home. (Parent Tip - the workouts can be repeated and your child can choose and decide how many repetitions of an exercise they do) . Children and parents can actively get involved and exercise together.

Art - Tuesday

Task: This week we will be doing a still life drawing contour and shading piece.

'Still life' is a collection of objects arranged together in any way you like.

Here is an example of how to setup your still life composition...you can see in the background to the right, the arrangement of objects

You are going to create another still life contour line drawing, but  this week we are going to add shading to your object to create a 3D effect.

*THIS WEEK YOU CAN CHOOSE TO MIX UP YOUR COMPOSITION OR USE THE SAME OBJECTS FROM LAST WEEK

You can choose to draw either one object or draw objects together, if you are up for a challenge!

Look at the examples provided if you need some inspiration. Use grey lead pencil.

Step 1- Arrange your objects/object. If you have A3 paper please use that, but A4 paper is fine.

Step 2- Start your contour line drawing, take your time and be sure to make sure you are looking at what you are drawing in front of you!

Step 3- Once you have have done you contour drawing you will now add shading to help create a 3D look to your objects ...here is a video demonstrating helpful ways to shade you objects:

Have fun! You only need grey lead pencils.

REFLECTION:

Once you have completed your artwork, I’d like you to reflect on what you learnt…Some questions to ask yourself.

What’s something new I learnt?

What did you find challenging about today's lesson?
