Principal's Report

Dear Families,

We are already half way through the term and summer is over. Where did the time go?

As we are now officially in Autumn, we are beginning to experience cooler mornings. Please support your child by ensuring that they have correct school uniforms for the cooler temperatures. Having said that, the forecast is for warmer weather again next week, so students must have a school hat to access outdoor areas.

Annual General Meeting 22 March 2022

Our Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday 22 March starting at 7pm. As we need to continue to limit the number of parents on site, we are offering you the opportunity to join the meeting either face to face or via an on line platform called WebEx. When you indicate your attendance at the meeting, please indicate if you are attending face to face or online. If you are attending online, please provide a current email address to enable us to send you the meeting link.

We are currently seeking nominations to join Governing Council. Nominations are required by 18 March. Please see letter below for details. Please note that all Governing Council members are required to have a Working With Children Check, be vaccinated against COVID -19 and engage in Governing Council on line training.

The Governing Council commitment is two meetings a term of approximately 1.5 hours duration. All members are encouraged to join a sub committee which also meet twice a term. If you would like further details about the role of the Council, please contact myself via the front office.

Students arriving at school early

An increasing number of students are arriving at school before 8:30am when student supervision starts. We remind all parents to be mindful of this and request they not drop their children off before this time.

Our OSHC service is available to assist families with before and after school care needs. For information about this service please contact Jo Battersby OSHC Director on 0418 585 142.

We will be focusing on this for the remainder of the term and would appreciate your support for the safety and wellbeing of all students.

Automated gates

Many of you would be aware that our gates into the staff carpark are now automated. Parents are not to access the carpark unless you are delivering or collecting your children from OSHC. When leaving the car park, please ensure you exit using the exit gate only. We have noticed parents exiting through the entry gate which is dangerous as it has the potential to result in a head on collision with a vehicle entering the grounds.

Unfortunately, if this behaviour continues we will need to review OSHC families having access to the carpark.

Kind regards,

Terena Pope
